Food for thought

I was looking at some new blogs and ran across some food for thought. You can check it out at Claudia's September 14th post. What do you think?

Cheerio, Chuppcake!

One of my favorite people just up & left for Virginia last week I made a traveling crown for her. I told her to wear it all the way, and take lots of pictures of herself along the way for me. I think she thought I was crazy. No pics yet from her, anyway...hope your travels went well, Stacey!

Feed sack Fabulous!

This is the vintage feed sack quilt I gave Monkey for her first birthday. She picked it out hersef. She has good taste!
I love, love the striped panel in the front, and the polka dots near the top!
The pillow case is also made of feed sack material. It's kinda small, so I made a pillow for it. So worth it, it looks great with the quilt AND it has rickrack trim!
(This is a toy lipstick, also a birthday gift. She thinks it's a sippy cup.)

For more fab feed sacks, go to Barb's blog, Oodles and oodles. Happy Friday!

Garage sale finds

Here are my best finds this weekend...I usually find nothing, so don't feel too jealous!Set of 6 dining room chairs that actually go with the table!!
Aren't these cool? Argyle owl ornaments-the most fabulous thing you never knew you didn't have!
3 Charlottes (and a jointed German bisque doll) for 25 cents. These are my first, although I have loved Charlottes for a long time.
2 Pink iris pillowcases for 2.00. More than I usually pay, but I think they will make an adorable spring skirt for the Monkey Buns. Also, vintage German trim that I will probably use to embellish her clothes.

Did anyone else go junkin' this weekend?

Thank you to everyone who was here or thought of us on the big day! We survived a whole year of parenting...and she survived a year of our parenting. So, I think it's going to work out after all;) It was a fabulous day all in all, and so many people coming to love on MB...what a blessing! See you all next year.....if I'm out of bed by then! For more birthday pictures taken by the wonderfully talented Julie, click here. She surprised me by taking snaps so I could be with Ava all day...such a thoughtful friend, and a wonderful gift.
